Hi,

I stayed at the El Dorado Royale from Mar. 3-10, 2005, just down the
road from where you are staying. I don’t anything about your resort
but I know you will be about 5 minutes away from Playa Del Carmen, not
sure if your resort offers free tours (highly doubt it) I found that
if you buy your tours in Playa del Carmen they’ll cost you half the
price of the resort. For example, to do a tour from EDR to Tulum &
Xel-ha it cost $107US p.p the same tour from Playa del Carmen cost $40
US p.p, quite a difference. And you have to go to Playa del Carmen,
what a great spot, restaurants and shops as far as the eye can see,
food was fantastic and a must is bargaining with the locals at the
shops by the time you hit the pavement your purchase will be half
price. On the resort we tipped our bar keep $1 everytime we hit the
bar, another couple would tip $10 for the day. It’s really up to you,
like another couple never tipped because the paid for an all inclusive
and figured they didn’t need to, I asked our bar keep how much he made
in a day, his pay cheque was $12 a day! can U imagine? excluding tips,
and most of them do have big families to feed. Have a great time!
